Helping Children Start the School Year with Confidence

Humble Abode Brewing is a locally owned, family operated Spokane brewery known for its welcoming atmosphere, community involvement, and commitment to crafting exceptional beer. With locations in North Spokane and their downtown event center, Humble Abode has built a reputation for bringing people together and supporting causes that make a meaningful difference in our community.

This July, Humble Abode is partnering with CASA Partners to collect essential items for children served through our My School Bag program. Together, we can help ensure local children have the clothing, school supplies, and support they need to begin the school year feeling prepared, confident, and cared for.

About CASA Partners

CASA Partners works alongside Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA volunteers) to ensure children who have experienced abuse or neglect receive the support, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive. Our mission is to provide resources, comfort, and opportunities that help children feel valued, supported, and empowered during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

Through programs like My School Bag, CASA Partners helps fill critical gaps by providing resources and experiences that children need but are often not covered by traditional funding or support systems.

What Is the My School Bag Program?

The My School Bag program provides children with new backpacks filled with age-appropriate school supplies, clothing, and other essentials needed for a successful school year.

For many children in foster care, a new school means a new beginning. My School Bag helps ease that transition by providing essential school supplies, new clothing, and other necessities that help children feel ready to learn and succeed.

How can you Help?

  • Drop off new, unused items at Humble Abode during the Christmas in July Drive.

    Most needed items include:

    • Backpacks

    • Notebooks and folders

    • Pencils, pens, crayons, and markers

    • Calculators

    • Water bottles

    • Socks and underwear

    • Clothing and shoes for school age children

    • Hygiene products

  • A gift of $100 sponsors a complete My School Bag for one child.

    Financial contributions allow our volunteers and advocates to purchase individualized items based on each child's specific needs, sizes, and preferences.
